Randomness Friday

April Kelley and I are starting something different, instead of blog swapping we will be answering questions along with sharing bits of our research into 2nd BonyDee Press challenge; click name for rules

What did you read as a child that inspires you now?

I didn’t really read as a child. Not really. I had bad reading difficulties, which made life difficult for me going through school, but also weary of books in general. Honestly when I was a early teenager did I start reading Baby Sitters: Little sister and Paul Jennings. They were the only books I could read.

So really I wouldn’t say books as a child inspired me to do anything. If anything they push me away from wanting anything to do with them. anything that wasn’t watching them at the movies or on telly (as Round the Twist was Paul Jennings stories, which is why I liked his, as I’d watched them, making it a whole lot easier for me).

I honestly can’t really tell you what inspired me, though books would have. At least once I really started I was at a time when I knew it was something I could do. Hell, it was something I could do, making up stories, and writing them down, a hell of a lot less embarrassing then what I was originally doing to get them out of my head.

Pick for Me ǀ Inside Out

So a reminder, this is a meme I’ve come up with to get me reading novels again. I honestly not a huge fan of them but on the other hand I have well over 300 books in me novel TBR pile.

Since I have so many I want you guys to be a part of the fun. I’ll give you five and you can pick which one you want me to read, and then next week I’ll do a review. This week it’ll be written, but if you wish for me to record my review just tell me and I’ll brave it out for you guys

Please have fun with my review (fair warning, I’m not great at them) and at the end, you’ll see the books and rules.

INSIDE OUT (Bronco’s Boys #1) by Andrew Grey

Andrew Grey is the only, and I do mean only, author whose books I can really binge read. Honestly I get bored super very quickly, you can ask my good friends Tracy Gee she knows. But with this author I’m able to read and read, and though I start getting bored around book 5, like always, I’m able to read at least a good 3 more, which I can’t with anyone else.

I’m not sure why this is. Like yeah we all get it, but there are authors out there who are just as good. Just as captivating and yet I just can’t.

Anyway, this is one of those times where I want to stuff everything and just read the rest of the series and move onto the next one, and I prob will, lol

Anyway, onto the story I suppose.

This book and I guess the series is about this club, book one. I’ve not looking into what the others are actually about, he’s kinda a one-click author for me so I’m not sure I’ve ever actually read the blurb…maybe I should now. Nah, what’s the point the surprise will give it a little more push for me to open the bloody book, lol.

Anyway, Bull, big guy, intimidating and Zach a little dude. Very troupe-y and I love it. Not that I thought I wouldn’t, but I do tend to like them big *wink wink*

Anyway, as you will learn I tend to find morals in the stories I read (and movies) as it’s how I write books. This one I want to say is about healing. About them finding the one person so understands what they weren’t through as a child and to help heal what they had lost.

It was fun and captivating as all Andrew’s books are. I enjoyed it, I want to pick up book 2 asap

so yes, great book, on GR I gave it a 5 stars with a 4.5 star rating. I really want to read the next one, though I have no idea who the hell it is. I have hope and yeah I could look it up, but what’s the fun in that *wink wink*

And that’s it, thanks for sticking with me. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the book if you’ve read it.
