Hadn’t the Pleasure #112

The books that have been collecting dust for so long they have become stained from it

I can’t describe what it’s like to want to scream every minute of every day.

Two years after a terrifying night of pain destroyed his normal teenage existence, Aaron Downing still clings to the hope that one day, he will be a fully functional human being. But his life remains a constant string of nightmares, flashbacks, and fear. When, in his very first semester of college, he’s assigned Spencer Thomas as a partner for his programming project, Aaron decides that maybe “normal” is overrated. If he could just learn to control his fear, that could be enough for him to find his footing again.

With his parents’ talk of institutionalizing him—of sacrificing him for the sake of his brothers’ stability—Aaron becomes desperate to find a way to cope with his psychological damage or even fake normalcy. Can his new shrink control his own demons long enough to treat Aaron, or will he only deepen the damage?

Desperate to understand his attraction for Spencer, Aaron holds on to his sanity with both hands as it threatens to spin out of control.

Stuck in Your Head # 106

I’m going to give you the line from the books I’ve read that make my mind crave the rest like chocolate & Coke.

“Well, I got a call that my man was being pursued by a little pipsqueak named Nate. I believe that first time I saw you was at the Dean Zone looking sexy as fuck. I knew right then and there that I was glad I’d come to Summerville.”

Inspiration

The thing is I need some, big time.

I have this little thought after I submitted a short story to yet another publisher, and as that wait set in, I thought that maybe my rejection affected me more than I realised.

Which I’d like to say, isn’t all that surprising, I’m very good at not seeing what’s plainly obvious to everyone else. At least not when it’s pointed to me.

I just can’t seem to get motivated to write. I had a pretty good run when I realised I needed to re-write Moonlit Wolves book 7 that’s now turned into nothing…

I had a good run when I started my blog story, and that’s turned to nothing…

The thing is I really need to publish something because I really need the money from sales, so that I can buy a picture for cover art and maybe even an editor, as the one I’ve been using is extremely busy. But saying this I don’t really need it done so early, I just want it so that I can give out a few arc’s and see if I need a different editor.

Anyway, not the point.

The point is that I don’t seem to have much motivation for writing, it’s come to that point that I’m again telling myself that there’s no point me continuing as an author since I clearly can’t actually write anything but what’s already out.

The thing is I seem to have no energy, and even when I do it’s fleeting, I thought it was just lack of iron, but I’ve taken my tablets and seemed to have tumbled into sickness. Nice of my body and all, but it’s winter, even if it seems like a hot one where I live, it’s still cold and it’s still a time when they float around, so it’s not that surprising that I would have caught something. I just wish it would let my write.

I want to write. My head clogged up, full of things that need out, and yet I can’t. I can’t….

What I have done, though, is signed up for 2 events, and one author highlight.

I’m only positive about the first one, and I’m in the author highlight (I’ll explain in a bit), and 1 is still in the wind, and I’ll either hear back or I won’t, but it’s the point of needing to keep putting myself out there, and being in people’s faces without smashing my books there.

The Highlight one will actually happen around November, which is the time I asked for as I’ve got this awesome book I want to promote –not even the end of July and I’m nervous as all hell for you guys to read it (huh, maybe this is my problem…)

The first two are just giveaways, and maybe a chat in at least one of them, I’m not 100% sure what I need to do for them, but I’m sure I’ll get an email that will explain it all.

More info on the first sentence: I’ve submitted Gotta Start Somewhere to Mischief Conner for the short story sub call. I’m not sure if it’s what they are looking for, but at least there terms are a lot broader, and so I’ll’ve heard back from them by now or I will in the next couple of days.

Fingers crossed, because I know it reads well, and I know it’s a good story, it just might not be what anyone’s looking for. I think if it doesn’t get in here I will just forget it ever happened, and self-pub it, though there has been thoughts of expanding it, or adding another short to the story itself.

Anyway, It’s all for the sake of my own head, trying not to be to hopeful that I’ll get in.

I also have decided on my cover, I’m not going to bother with a cover comp, as I love the people in this one, and I think it’s simple and perfect. I may have a pic from these three, but it’s not that hopeful. The biggest thing I’m finding with it not wanting to spend too much time on it as I can’t buy the photo yet. But I think I need to make it even if it’s water marked so that I can send out some emails for that. May as well get it all out together and I can stress about it all at the same time.

Anyway, that’s it, I didn’t plan on talking this much, but apparently I need it.

My Sexy Saturday Week 52

I found that I might not have done this right the first time, so sorry, my excuse is that I just threw it together at the last minute when I put myself on the end of the list. Last Saturday was a busy time for me.

So here, I am again. I think I need to tell you what’s meant to happens, but if you need instructions click here to find them out, along with who else is participating

So, this week it’s there anniversary, a year since they started this lovely little time, once a week. So below is the quote from that, and here’s the link to the post

Wow! A whole year we’ve been entertaining people with our little bit of sexy. We say, let’s go for another one!!!

This is really all about the authors and readers this week. There’s no theme except to say that we are celebrating each and every one of you. And because this is in the middle of summer, we couldn’t decide on just what we wanted to do to celebrate, so we decided to hold off for you until Halloween or Christmas…decisions, decisions…we can’t decide which.

So…why don’t you all help us to decide…do you want our anniversary celebration to be held around Halloween or at Christmas? Either way, we’ll have fun and prizes galore…but you need to give us a hint here…and you can tell us by sending us an email at mysexysaturday@gmail.com with a subject line of ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION and tell us what you want. We’ll keep you posted on the outcome!

All right, not onto the theme of this week is sharing a sexy titbit about anything your heart desires… which means something, though I’m not really clear, it seems the end is the same as last weeks (I really need to get some time to do a little research on this so I can actually get it right).

Anyway, I’m going to be taking my snippet from Moonlit Wolves 4: Taking Control of My Werewolf, this part is at the end when Eamon made his choice and he’s gone to tell Chris

***
Everything in Chris at that moment, screamed for him to stop the man from mulling over the situation. Not yet, not when he hadn’t given Eamon a reason to stay. And all Chris could think of to get Eamon on his side was through sex.
They had great sex. Passionate, to the point of frenzied. Lazy and sweet. Hard and easy. The two of them together, in the sack, were compatible. It was intense. It was everything you didn’t think you needed until it was working you over and under and fucking up your ideas of relationships and trust and forever—even when forever just wasn’t a realistic dream.
Crawling forward, Chris got up a step, snuggling up in between the older man’s legs. His hands ran up his man’s thighs, letting the inseam of his pants distract them as he ran his lips along Eamon’s jaw.
“Forever,” Eamon muttered, as his fingers carded through Chris’ hair, before gripping the strands and pulling Chris away from his neck so Eamon could look him in the eyes. “I reckon it means forever.”
Chris felt his eyes soften, though he wasn’t sure what emotion was winning out. Pity, because Eamon was able to believe what he was saying, or something softer, because looking at Eamon then made Chris want to believe the lie, too.
“I can’t promise forever.” Chris knew his smile was a touch sad—man he wished he could believe that one easy bullshit in the world. “But I can guarantee—with everything I am today—that I will do everything in my power to be what you need, so you never feel you have to leave me.”
“Oh, God,” Eamon muttered. He gave Chris a quick searching look that seemed to pull him completely apart. Then, a smile, so soft—heartbreakingly so, before it all fuzzed out as Eamon’s lips met his in a soft kiss that stole Chris’ breath, his heart. His very soul.

And that’s it, hope to see you all next week

Started my WIP / Blog Story

Yeah, it’s actually started, it may not be a once weekly thing, but I definitely hope to finish this story and have it available to everyone who wants it –free of charge of course. And if this actually works out, I may do it all over again.

This is going to be a New Adult story, I’m not sure if there’s going to be any sex, but I swear to much to be bothered with calling it YA. Also, in Australia a person no matter what sex or sexuality is legally able to have sex, anyway they want (other than with a person of authority over them) at the age of 16.

So this way, I call it NA because if sex comes up they are more than happy to have at it.

Anyway, I’ve already posted 3 times on that blog

1)      Introduction, or sorts – Something New
2)      the story starts – Chapter One
3)      Footnote of why the chapter was a little shit – Note from when I Started

Or, you can simply hit the ‘In Progress’ page in the top bar and it will take you to the blog itself where you will see all those backwards.

Hope you like, enjoy and have fun as you watch my write out this short story mistakes and all

A Good Cause - Wounded Warrior Project

The Wounded Warrior Project is pretty much, what you think it is. To support, well wounded warrior in a number of ways. I’m not really clear on what it does as I’m more than sure it’s an American organisation and I’m not.

This isn’t to say I don’t believe it’s a good thing, but honestly, I’m not American, and so it’s not as important for me, as, well, something that came out of Australia or was in Australia.
nor is it saying I don’t care for the cause, I have huge opinions on how governments treat the people they train and send out to war.

Anyway, here’s what I believe the place is to helpout, but don’t quote me on it. I haven’t spent that much time on it. In addition, here’s the Wikipedia link, because that’s definitely it

Kade Boehme, who you can find here, is taking part in this project by donating a portion of his sales to the Wounded Warrior Project over the next several months. So this is a perfect time to pick up and number of his book, not only because they are awesome but because you will be helping out those who need help more than you’d ever know.

War isn’t easy; it’s even tougher when you get home.

And here’s a quick look at some of those books you should really look into picking up, here’s the GR link if you’re interested in see what else he has.

*I want to thank Leighton Rose, and her birthday giveaway for introducing me to this great cause and a great man who’s doing something to help. You can find those details here

The books that have been collecting dust for so long they have become stained from it

But not all the items are that easy to catalogue -- or get rid of.

I didn’t see him until it was too late.
A tall, faceless figure looking up out of the shadows. Even if I had seen him, I’m not sure it would have made a difference. My only thought was getting downstairs and out the front door as fast as possible. It turned out the fasted way was crashing headlong into someone bigger, and letting my momentum send us both hurtling down the staircase.

The Rest of the Year

So, it’s the midway point of the year and I feel like I’ve failed miserably.
Ok, so a little over, but let’s not quibble over a few weeks.

What I’ve managed to do this year, just so we can all see, and maybe I can gain some insight.
·         Wrote 2 short stories
o   Both got rejected from the anthologies I submitted them too. One for more reasons than the other and the other I used for a blog story
·         Wrote 2  and a half Moonlit Wolves stories
o   And realised the series didn’t have any direction. Changed that direction and floundered about how to make it work. Figured that out only to realise I couldn’t write a book a month, mostly because I can’t write like that, I can’t focus solely on one series.
·         Edited & Published 6 books
o   I’d like to add on the first one, my free one, but I actually did all that the year before. It was only difficulties with the program that had that one out in 2014.
·         And I’ve promoted – I’m adding this one, ‘cause it’s a point I should celebrate as I think I did a good job of it.

So let’s talk what I’m planning on written by the end of the year, so that when it’s all done I can come back here and really see how bad I went.
Need to:
·         Finish Moonlit Wolves 7: Protecting My Werewolf
o   This I hope to finish by the end of the week. I’m not hopefully as I’ll be doing it of a night while I do the list of other things I’ve gotta do, and always have to, when coming out of a huge chunk of depression.
o   I’m hoping for a September release
·         My horror short, write, it’ll be around 6K and I’m going to spend the money for outside editing to see if I can work with someone – I’d like to use it as a sort of trial, but I really want to it out for October, naturally.
·         Get my November release published.
o   This needs cover art, and all the other things that wrap around that.
o   I also need to send out email asking if others will help promote me.
·         Book 8 & 9 of the Moonlit Wolves series
o   This will finish my arc and therefore wont.
o   I have to figure out the details of the whole series as I’ve changed not only the lay out but how many I’m writing (30 books, if you’re interested) and what I want where, as well as what I want out of the smaller arc
§  This will also have me needing to work things into the first arc, which you’ll end up seeing when I get the rights back.
o   This means, that I also have to figure out what I want to do, and how I want the rest of them to go – stay, write what I can, and publish when I can, and get the rights back slower, or stop at this number and have it all back together??!
§  I’m more inclined to the first one
·         See if I can get a Christmas Story, to put in an anthology, if one comes out.
·         And/or fix up my Moonlit Wolves shorts and see if extasy will publish that as a Christmas special.
o   Only that too, is a problem as I don’t want them to be anything more than deleted scene and not short stories, and I want them to stay that way, only extasy doesn’t like that because, well they aren’t short stories…

That’s it; it’s all I plan on doing this year. I’m hoping to do a lot more but I’m going to let things fall where they do, because after book 7 and my horror book I plan on writing something from a different series, or just a standalone...
But who cares, it’ll be something and I’ll figure that out when I get to is and not before, because what’s the point in over thinking shit that might not even happen.

Thanks for the time, I might not tell you that much, mostly because I find that one line, that I love so much, lessons the whole post when you’ve just gotten off the phone with a telemarketer – if you aren’t clued in, they use that line too.

But thanks, I mean it, from the bottom of my heart!
